The Sunshine Coast RCMP is partnering with Indigenous Policing Services and Community Policing Services and hosting a 2-day immersive youth academy with applications currently being accepted.
The camp will run from Wednesday July 12 to Thursday July 13th from 9am to 3pm at the Sechelt Seaside Centre, located at 5790 Teredo St.
If you are a student currently enrolled in Grade 8 to 12 in School District 46 and are thinking of a career in law enforcement, emergency responder, or just unsure what career to choose, then this experience is for you

Youth will experience our fitness requirements to become a member, police tactics, the principles of law, and community police. The youth will be hands on investigating scenario crime scenes and have introductions to specialized units including our Police Dog Services, Emergency Response Team, and more.
There is no cost for the camp, and will be provided a snack and lunch along with a uniform, and the required tools to examine a crime scene.
Why not see what being a Mountie entails with an introduction to the vast opportunities the RCMP provides while making new friends and getting to know the local police officers
said Cst Chris Mager.
