Assault

On March 30, a woman reported that a male friend who had lost his keys and was accusing the woman of stealing them confronted her. After the woman explained she did not steal them, the man friend allegedly pushed the woman, which freaked her out. The woman declined to pursue criminal charges.

Liquor act

On March 30 at 6pm, a woman reported seeing a woman passed out on a bench at Downton Park. Police attended and locating a woman that smelled of alcohol, sleeping on a bench. Police arranged for a friend to pickup the woman and that attended and agreed to look after her intoxicated friend.

On March 31 at 1pm, a woman reported 2-5 people drinking at the Miyazaki house on Russell lane. Police arrived 3 minutes after receiving the report however, there was no one located at the Miyazaki house.

On April 1 policed observed a known man asleep in Downtown Park. Police approached the man who smelled of liquor and appeared intoxicated. The man was offered a ride home, which was accepted, police drove the man to his residence.

On April 3, while on patrol police observed a man with open alcohol at Downton Park. Police attended where the man had closed the alcohol bottle and put it in his backpack. Police directed the man to pour the alcohol out. The man was able to care for himself and departed the area.

Theft

On March 31, a woman reported her brand new Google Pixel 7 cell phone was stolen from her vehicle. The woman added she was all over Lillooet that day and was not certain at what time the phone was stolen. The woman provided the serial number 351610585749683 for the stolen phone.

Cause disturbance

On April 1 at 8pm, a woman reported four intoxicated people on Russell Lane that were chasing the complainant and her friends. Police attended and located the complainant, when another woman approached and began yelling at the complainant that she was not going to buy alcohol for her and to leave her alone. The complainant began yelling back at the other woman who left on foot under direction from police. While police were conducting further checks of the area at the request of the complainant, the complainant and her friends ran away from police.

Impaired driving

On April 2, a man reported seeing what he believed to be an intoxicated driver. Police acquired the vehicle and engaged in a traffic stop. The driver admitted to only consuming a Caesar at lunch. A breath demand was conducted and the driver blew a warning. The man was prohibited from driving for 3 days, issued a $200 fine, and his vehicle impounded for 3 days.

Unspecified assistance

On April 2, a man reported his neighbour and brother was burning a fallen tree with a controlled fire, but wished he put the fire out. The complainant refused to ask his brother himself, as they do not speak. Police attended and the fire was extinguished.

Utter threats

On April 4, a man reported that his adult daughter’s friend/ex-boyfriend had threatened him. The man added that his daughter and her ex had a run-in with each other that led to the ex-boyfriend telling the complainant he would bury him. The man did not wish to pursue the matter any further and was reporting for information only.

Drive while prohibited

On April 7 at 10am, while on patrol Lillooet RCMP observed a vehicle being driven by a known prohibited driver. Police engaged in a traffic stop and confirmed the driver’s identity. The man was served a future court date for driving while prohibited, and his vehicle was impounded for a mandatory 7 days.

Assault with a weapon

On April 8 at 2am, a woman reported an assault and that bear spray had been deployed in a residence in Bridge River. Police attended where a male immediately surrendered himself to police. The man was arrested and transported to Lillooet cells. The male victim was inside the residence attempting to decontaminate himself. All witnesses on scene and the victim were all intoxicated. Police attended the next afternoon where the victim stated he was not interested in pursuing charges and wished to move on.

Assist fire department

On April 9 at 11pm a woman reported a possible fire inside a new building on Main St near 11th Ave. Police attended with Lillooet fire department and observed flickering light inside. Access was gained into the building where it was discovered the flickering light was coming from an installed pellet stove. Building owner notified.

Road check

On April 9 at 3pm Lillooet RCMP and Stl’atl’imx police conducted a road check on Hwy 99N near Fountain Valley Rd. Approximately 50 vehicles were checked. Two violation tickets were issued, no impaired drivers observed.
