Single vehicle crash sends one person to hospital

On Monday, November 21, Northern Rockies RCMP received a report of a single vehicle roll over on the Alaska highway near the Liard River Hot Springs.A Northbound, pick up truck, left the road way, rolled down a steep embankment and struck a tree. 

The driver, a 23 year old man from Fort St. John, was ejected from the vehicle. the passenger successfully flagged down help for his friend. The driver was air lifted from Watson Lake, to hospital in Vancouver for treatment. The cause of the collision is still under investigation, but it does not appear that drugs or alcohol played a role.

The Northern Rockies RCMP would like to thank the employees of White Bear Industries, and Liard River Lodge, who attended and provided first aid to the badly injured driver. These individuals provided care for close to three hours while waiting for emergency services to arrive from Fort Nelson and Watson Lake, Yukon.
