Intoxicated driver drives self to detachment
On November 13 at 4pm a woman drove to the Lillooet RCMP detachment with two men. One of the men attended inside the detachment for information from police. Police knew the man to be prohibited from driving and asked him how he got to the detachment. The man stated his girlfriend drove him there. Police recognized the woman driving, and had observed her consuming alcohol earlier that afternoon. An officer conducted an impaired driving investigation and demanded the woman provide a breath sample. The woman blew FAIL
twice into an approved screening device, and was subsequently prohibited from driving for 90 days, and had her vehicle impounded for a minimum 30 days.
Attempted theft
On November 9, a dark coloured pickup truck attempted to steal a flatbed trailer from 100 block of Main St. Please see this media release for more information.
Assault
On November 13 at 12pm police were informed of an assault in the 700 block of Main St. Lillooet RCMP attended and located a group of people, one person told police that her adult son had been assaulted. The son had a swollen shut eye, with blood on his hands and face. The son refused to speak with police. Another man accused another man of the assault but stated the adult son had challenged the man. The matter appeared to be a consensual fight that the adult son initiated, but ended up losing badly.
Intoxicated in public
On November 13 at 12:30pm police observed a heavily intoxicated woman at Downton Park. Police arrested the woman and transported her to Lillooet cells to safely sober up.
