Police investigating after woman grabbed from unknown suspect

Ladysmith RCMP is currently investigating a random stranger assault.

On Saturday November 11, 2023, just after 8:30 p.m., Ladysmith RCMP received a report of an assault that took place on Transfer Beach Boulevard near Oyster Bay Drive at the railway tracks. A woman was allegedly grabbed from behind and dragged into a wooded area by an unknown man for short moment before setting her free.

The suspect was described as:

The victim was shaken but did not sustain physical injuries. She is being supported by Victim Services.

The RCMP Police Dog Service attended the scene, however could not locate any suspect.

We are asking anyone who was in the area of Transfer Beach / Oyster Bay Drive on the evening of November 11 between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. is asked to contact the Ladysmith RCMP, especially if they saw a person matching the description of the suspect, or anyone seen loitering in the area that evening says Cst. Bryna Arrowsmith of the Ladysmith RCMP. We are also looking for anyone who may have dash cam footage in that time frame and area on the night of November 11.
